Training Dagley’s Annie Video Collection

Training Dagley’s Annie is a video collection in our Training a Cow Dog Video Series.

Dagley’s Annie is a Supreme Qualified, Hangin Tree Cowdog out of 4JB Colt and Anni. This collection shows videos of her throughout her training.

Annie cowdog puppy

See 3 month old Annie when David first introduced her to stock!

You will notice at first David is using Annie to teach the goats to follow him. Once he can lead, with goats following him, he and Annie load them into the trailer.

This is the first time Annie ever loaded stock into a trailer. She was five months old here. It was also the first time these goats had ever been put into a trailer with a dog.

At eight months old, Annie is helping David push bulls.

Annie is 5 months old in this video of her loading bulls.

Up to this time David had only used Annie to work the goats. This is her first time working cattle.

You will notice that Annie can duck under the corral fence if any bulls try to get her, so she can work them in a safe environment.

Annie at nine months, helping us move a herd of cow calf pairs to a fresh pasture.
You might notice we also have a couple of our older Border Collies along for the ride. They help now and then, but I don’t think they know any commands except “down” and “come”. So Annie is the only dog David is giving commands to in this video.

Annie, at 10 months old, is bringing on some cattle for David.

Dagley's Annie as a pup

This video shows our cowdog, Annie, as a 3 month old puppy when we first introduced her to our young goats. It goes on to show her at 5 months old, after two months of training.

Some of the mama goats in the second half of the video ended up being a little bit difficult, as they had never been worked by a dog before, and were definitely on the fight. After a little bit you will see David walks in with Annie to help give her the confidence to face off with the goats.
