New Recipe – Savory Seasoning!
I’m always looking for ways to cook nutritious, delicious food in a hurry, because ranch life keeps me busy.
So, I started making seasoning mixes. That way, whether I want to bake a chicken, make a soup, of fry up some rice and vegetables, I can grab a seasoning mix and and make a nutritional meal easily. No MSGs, gluten, sugar, or fillers!
This recipe has become one of my favorites go-to seasonings!
Susanna’s Savory Seasoning Mix
- 1/3 cup dried thyme
- 1/3 cup onion granules
- 1/3 garlic granules
- 2/3 cup salt
- 1/3 cup dried ginger powder
- 1/3 cup powdered turmeric
- 1 tsp cayenne.
Mix together, then store in a labeled jar or sprinkle top container.
Ideas for use:
- Sprinkle on chicken, pork chops, etc before baking.
- Add a tsp to homemade soup for an all in one seasoning
- Sprinkle on stir fried rice and vegetables
- Sprinkle on fried potatoes
I naturally am a cook that tosses in a little of that and a little of this. But I’ve had enough people ask for “my recipes” that I’ve started putting together my first cookbook.
This means I’ve had to learn how to measure my ingredients, write them down, then evaluate my creation. Usually I have to tweak my recipe over and over again.
