From Puppy to Trained Cowdog Comparison Videos

“So, when you are picking out a puppy, how do you know which puppy will make a good cowdog?” “What traits should you look for in a cowdog puppy?” “Is it good for a cowdog puppy to chase stock, or should it circle the stock?” “Is chasing goats and sheep alright for a cowdog puppy?” “I want I good stock dog, but how do I tell which puppy to choose?”

People ask many questions about how to pick the right cowdog puppy. Instead of trying to answer them all, I thought it might be helpful to see before and after videos of our cowdogs. See us introduce our 3 month old cowdog to goats, then see what she looks like as a trained cowdog!

This first video shows our cowdog, Annie, as a 3 month old puppy when we introduced her to our young goats. It goes on to show her at 5 months old, two months later

Some of the mama goats in the second half of the video ended up being a little bit difficult, as they had never been worked by a dog before, and were definitely on the fight. After a little bit you will see David walks in with Annie to help give her the confidence to face off with the goats.

This second video shows Annie 2 years later, at 29 months old.
