Captain and David Dog Break Calves
Dagley’s EL Captain NB is a registered 15-month-old Hangin Tree Cowdog out of Wilcox’s Slate and Dagley’s Annie that David calls Cap.
David has been training Cap for his owner and thought people might like to see a video of him and Cap dog breaking some weanling calves.
This small group of calves had not seen humans all summer, so they were flighty and spooked easily when we first turned them out into this large pen to dog break them.
As this process took a few days, we fed them hay daily during this time.
Once we had them dog broke, we turned them out into a pasture with our main herd of calves that were already gentled, use to our one wire fences, and comfortable with people moving them often.
